Jetés (L'Elephant)

$100.00

A print by Ajda Kara.

Ajda was born in Turkey, grew up in France and currently lives in Barcelona.

"I grew up with Kurdish, Turkish and French cultures. This multiculturalism has largely influenced my work, the recurring theme of which is the questioning of identity, the feeling of belonging to a place, a territory, a culture, or several, which coexists with that of being sometimes “foreign” wherever you are. My photographic projects are influenced by my daily life and my experiences.

I would love to donate an image from my project "Jetés". The serie "Jetés" (Dumped Out) consists of photographs of objects abandoned outdoors. Once collected, the rubbish material is re-formed and given a new context in order to be photographed.
This image that is very naif and has the colors of Ukraine flag. It is an elephant. It reminds the innocence of children.”

All profits from the sale of this print will be donated to World Central Kitchen.
